Your first questions
Ask in your own words, the way you would ask a colleague. Start with something you already know the answer to. If it gets that right, you will trust it with the ones you do not.
What a good answer looks like
Every answer comes with its sources: the document, the author, the date and what it applies to. Open a citation to check it. That is the habit that makes the rest worth trusting.
When it says nothing is recorded
That is the product working. When the facts are not in your documents, your assistant says so instead of assembling a plausible guess from the nearest match. If you know the answer, that is the moment to record it.
Questions that work well
- "What did we decide about…" and "What is our position on…"
- "Which version of … is current?"
- "Who set … and when?"
- "Is there anything recorded about…" when you are not sure the knowledge exists.
